After two long months of preparations, Mix FM presented the I Heart Music Fest! It was nothing short of an extraordinary presentation of what this country is capable of and what it represents. It was a full house at BIEL on Wednesday april 30th with thousands of people of all ages, who came to celebrate music, life and togetherness!
8 hours of non stop music, 8 artists in one night… Tinie Tempah, Lawson, Aloe Blacc, Charli XCX, Naughty Boy, Spree Wilson and Di-rect followed by one of the most anticipated acts, a DJ set by Dash Berlin!
The night kicked off early with hundreds of eager fans lining up outside to be the first ones in, the line was enormous!
Madjam was warmed up the night followed by Rodge with the opening set… By 10pm, the venue reached full capacity and Nemr Abou Nassar jumped up on stage for a quick guitar solo and officially began the show!
First up, the singer behind the iconic hit “I Love It”, Charli XCX! She jumped up and got the crowd going wild and singing along to the hit, and followed that with an exclusive performance of her latest track “Fancy”!
Right behind her, Mr. La La La himself, Naughty Boy, hit the decks playing some of his biggest tracks!
Marcel, the vocalist from DI-RECT took the stage performing worldwide hit “Where we Belong” and that was an extraordinary moment as the whole venue joined him in song!
Rodge hit the decks for a short DJ set, Decadance style, followed by one of the most anticipated acts of the night, British band sensation Lawson! The women went crazy for the talented and attractive 4 part band who played all their hits and more including, Juliet, Standing in the Dark, Broken Hearted, Learn to Love again and an awesome cover of “Don’t You Worry Child”!
Spree Wilson who performed the #1 single, “The Spark” had incredible stage presence, jumping about throughout the track, following up Lawson’s act perfectly!
During the show we had a couple guest appearances including Tania Kassis and Marcel Ghanem who gave a truly heartwarming speech about what Lebanon is really about, “Lebanon is love, Lebanon is Life and that this night is an example of what we want Lebanon to be”
Afterwards, The Man himself took the stage, Aloe Blacc got up to perform many of his tracks including I Need a Dollar, The Man and of course the grand finale “Wake Me Up” bringing the entire crowd to a chorus of singing!
One of the crowds favorite performers was next, the astonishing Tinie Tempah!
This singer was driving the crowd insane with his amazing dance moves and how he got the crowd to join him in dancing and singing! It was a joint act between the crowd and the Miami to Ibiza singer! Tinie Tempah also performed Pass Out, Frisky, and incredible performance of Tsunami and many more bringing the concert half to an amazing end!
Last but definitely not least, Dash Berlin finally took the stage to kick off the party half of the event, with Dash Berlin fans rushing to the front of the stage to get closer to him! He played an amazing set ending with the classic “Till The Sky Falls Down”!
Throughout the night, fireworks lit up the stage and confetti showered the crowd, the setup included a enormous Heart Shaped LED screen and lighting truss that were absolutely mind blowing!
This event wasn’t easy to pull off, but Mix FM managed to make it happen with the help of hundreds of volunteers, partners and of course you, the audience, who made it all worth the trouble!
